The Siena School is firmly committed to working with any family who can benefit from our program to ensure adequate financial support is provided. Please do not hesitate to contact our admissions office with any questions you may have.
Our tuition and fees are set at a level that ensures we can provide an appropriate and high quality program for our students. We understand the costs may be significant for many families. However, we hope a variety of measures ensure our school remains widely accessible:
- Tax-Deductible Tuition*
We are unique from most private schools in that we serve a special population. For most families, Siena's tuition and fees will qualify as a tax-deductible medical expense. This has the potential to reduce your tuition costs by thousands of dollars each year. Other expenses, such as your transportation costs, will also generally be tax-deductible. For more information on this deduction, please speak with our staff, see the LDA of America website, and consult your individual tax advisor. *Individual circumstances will vary, so please be sure to consult your personal tax advisor on whether or not you will be eligible. A local CPA specializing in this area is Matthew Miller.
- Withdraw from a 529 Plan
Up to $10,000 per year from a 529 Plan can be used towards a private school education.
- Withdraw from HSA/FSA
Money can be designated to pay for Siena as a medical expense from these accounts.
- Eliminate Outside Expenses
You may be able to eliminate outside expenses because of Siena's daily reading intervention, study skills, and organization strategies. Some outside expenses may include Occupational Therapists, College Counseling, Speech-Language Pathologists, Executive Functioning Coaches, and Tutors.
- Generous Benefactor
Tuition paid by a generous benefactor directly to Siena qualifies as a tax-exempt gift, allowing payments to exceed the gift tax limit.
- Monthly Payment Plan
Finally, we partner with FACTS, a national, third-party tuition management service to offer a monthly payment plan. Enrolling in FACTS also permits you to pay tuition using automated bank debits or credit card payments. For more information, please see our FACTS Payment Plan page.
- Generous Financial Aid
To assist families that may not otherwise be able to consider Siena, we dedicate a significant portion of our operating funds to support a generous financial aid program. We expect approximately 25-30% of students will receive tuition assistance, with average grant awards of about $7,500-$10,000. We also expect to offer a limited number of scholarship grants covering up to 75% of tuition and fees. For more information, or to apply, please visit our page on Financial Aid.
