All students—and particularly students with learning differences—benefit from a multisensory approach to learning, especially in math. This workshop will present an overview of how The Siena School teaches math using hands-on activities and incorporating art, music and technology. Topics covered will include numeracy, fractions, place value and math manipulatives with a focus on elementary and middle school math as well as extensions to Algebra and beyond. The workshop will demonstrate practical activities that can reinforce mathematical concepts in school and at home. This math overview is appropriate for parents, teachers and all educators.
This session is recommended for teachers, tutors and parents.
