Siena Stewardship Day 3/30

Posted On: 10/12/2015 11:46 AM

All students and staff will participate in Siena's Stewardship Day. The purpose of stewardship day is for the entire student body and teachers to learn about an environmental problem facing our local and global communities, participate in service projects and spend time outside having fun and giving back. We begin our day with a presentation from Davey Rogner, a graduate of Springbrook High School who founded Pick Up America and The Harvest Collective. Afterwards, students and teachers participate in eight different projects from litter clean-up to making seed bombs. Lastly, the student body congregate on the field to be citizen scientists and collect data for three different organizations, the Rozilla Project, Marine Debris Tracker and the Alice Ferguson Foundation on the types of litter removed from a one square mile area around the school.
